The story behind Odilon Redon: A Dreamlike World, from Aether’s founder, Carrie-Ann:

This puzzle is a deeply personal tribute—both to an artist, and to the person who introduced me to his work.

My oldest son is the reason I came to know and love Odilon Redon. Redon is his favorite artist—so much so that one of Redon’s ethereal works lives on his arm as a tattoo, which he proudly calls “a great conversation starter.”

In many ways, my son is also the reason I’ve grown to appreciate art at all. One of our favorite traditions is visiting our local art museum together every year on his birthday. This past year, we were met with an unexpected moment of magic: Redon’s Geraniums—a painting we knew the museum possessed but had never seen displayed—had finally been brought out into the light.

Watching my son admire that piece was as moving as seeing it myself. Geraniums holds special meaning for me—its vivid red blooms instantly reminded me of my grandmother, whose garden was always lined with those very flowers. That moment, surrounded by art and family, felt suspended in time.
