From the Founder:
I first encountered the work of John Singer Sargent during a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and I’ve been captivated ever since. His portraits stopped me in my tracks - not simply for their elegance, but for the presence they hold.
What draws me to Sargent is his ability to capture personality without theatricality. There is confidence in his brushwork, softness in his light, and a remarkable sensitivity to mood. His subjects feel alive - poised between movement and stillness, revealing something beyond appearance.
When curating this collection, I focused on the elements that first drew me in: the interplay of color, texture, and atmosphere. Including his portrait of Isabella Stewart Gardner felt especially meaningful. Her museum remains one of my favorite places, and honoring her within this composition felt like a quiet tribute - both to Sargent’s mastery and to the legacy of a woman who preserved so much beauty for others to experience.
This collection celebrates portraiture at its most refined - intimate, luminous, and enduring.
