Photographer’s Studio shows how early portrait photography depended on careful staging as well as camera technology. Furniture, painted backdrops, drapery, plants, parasols, and posing stands helped create different settings and kept sitters still during long exposures. The large bellows camera sits within a room designed to control posture, lighting, background, and the final appearance of the portrait.
Colors have been carefully adjusted for clarity and vibrancy in puzzle form.
